Become a Model
We work with models of all genders, body types, and experience levels. Modeling sessions are paid and respectful.
Requirements:
- 18 years or older
- Comfortable posing for artists
- Reliable and communicative
Our friends at local drawing schools are always looking for new figure drawing models. Interested persons can send an email to alrightdrawnite@gmail.com with your contact info, one (1) clothed headshot and references if you have them — but past experience isn’t necessary. We’ll forward your contact to a volunteer who books models locally at multiple venues — including Alright DrawNite.
Modeling Tips:
- Choose dynamic, flowing, dance-like poses. We love models who twist, reach, crouch and stretch. Consider all 360° to give artists a variety of angles to work with.
- Come ready with a variety of action poses (15-20), because we start out FAST (2-3 min.), and wrap up with a long pose. Be creative! Pretend to reach for apples, swing an imaginary bucket, carry a baby etc.
- Practice holding a 5-minute pose, and see what it feels like! Find one or two visually dynamic resting positions that you feel comfortable holding for up to 20 minutes.
- Bring: a robe and/or towel from home for your comfort in the minutes prior to your time. We’ll provide a stool and/or chair to use if you so choose. Our top priority is that you feel safe & comfortable, and for your "life drawing" experience to be special.
